PROJECT SITE VISITS , PLANNING MEETINGS, PRESS EVENT ATTENDANCE:

• Attended one quarterly  meeting of the West Branch Susquehanna Task Force; Bedford.
• SMCRA Re-Authorization Press Conference with Senator Specter; Pittsburgh.
• One Loyalhanna Creek projects update meeting; Greensburg
• C-SAW meeting at USGS building; New Cumberland
• Watershed Specialist Southwest Region Roundtable; Greensburg.
• Attended Southern Alleghenies RC&D meeting; Bedford.

GENERAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES AND MEETING/EVENT ATTENDANCE:

• Blacklick Creek Watershed Association meeting and Holiday party; Indiana
• PACD Winter meeting (WPCAMR display and educational materials presented for two days); State College
• Continued writing Abandoned Mine Post Newsletter articles
• Compiled and wrote meeting minutes for the previous WPCAMR quarterly meeting.
• Created a video production pilot for Abandoned Mine Posts which can be used as a pod-cast or streaming video.

CONSERVATION DISTRICT OUTREACH
The Watershed Coordinator continued Conservation District outreach during the months of November, December, and January.  The following County Conservation Districts were visited: Mercer, Lawrence, Beaver.
Additionally, the Watershed Coordinator also continued working with Elk County Watershed Specialist on ideas for AMD educational materials development.  Reviewed and commented on a draft OM&R white paper completed as part of a Growing Greener grant in partnership with the Fayette Conservation District.

AML CAMPAIGN
Drafted and sent out  two  press releases about the AML fund.  Distributed AML fund information to conservation districts at the winter PACD conference in State Collge.  Interviewed with the Somerset Daily American for two articles about AMD and the AML fund.  Worked on the creation of a video production that explains SMCRA Title IV and the options for the Commonwealth.  Attended and compiled minutes for an AML Campaign planning meeting in Huntingdon.

2007 AMD CONFERENCE
WPCAMR staff participated in a conference call for the organizing committee to determine duties for the organization of the 2007 conference to be held in late July or early August 2007.
